A community of more than 700 homes in southern Dorchester County, Whitehall offers a location convenient to a variety of shopping centers, restaurants, healthcare, recreational facilities and major employers.
Offering single-family homes from around 1,200 to more than 3,200 square feet in size, this neighborhood on the banks of the Ashley River features traditional style homes with stucco, vinyl and brick exteriors. Amenities of the good life at Whitehall include a community pool, playground, tennis courts and multi-use ball fields.
A number of events held throughout the year help enhance the neighborhood’s already strong sense of community and include an annual Christmas social with a visit from Santa, an Easter egg hunt, Easter social, teen pizza party and more. There’s also a friendly Christmas decoration competition each year. A summer swim clinic and swim lessons are offered and a partnership with the City of North Charleston lets the city use the neighborhood’s ball fields for T-ball and Tiny Tot Soccer programs, meaning children can participate without needing to travel.
A number of major area employers are located nearby and include the giant Boeing Aircraft wide-body assembly plant less than eight miles away, the Bosch manufacturing facility less than three miles away, and the Charleston Air Force Base less than eight miles away. Other large employers include the Verizon Call Center and Trident Medical Center, each about nine miles distant.
Downtown Charleston is about a half-hour’s drive and area beaches are approximately 45 miles distant.
